Point-7 AC-K 2011 : Race 3 cambers :

The AC-K, King of Cams is a new addition to the Point-7 sail line-up, tested and developed in the Canary Islands in a variety of conditions, from the nuclear winds in Pozo to the choppy waters of Fuerteventura and at the development HQ in Tenerife. Final testing was carried out on Lake Garda in Italy to complete the bigger sizes and ensure overall performance in light winds.
Mast Choice Advise: The sail line have been tested with C100+ and C80+ standard masts. Only the 5.8m2 uses a RDM mast. The C60 grade mast is also compatible with the AC-K
Design objective: Racing characteristics, with special empathize on easy handling and comfort.
Development: Demanding performance to push your racing further. Having a simplified race sail is not a question of how many cambers it has, but a demand to have the fastest sail possible with optimized handling and comfort qualities. Being the friendlier version of the AC-1, Point-7’s title winning race line, the AC-K has been cut to having a very compact outline that allows for more power in a smaller sail area. Developed to shock absorb gusts and choppy conditions softer than the AC-1 and with less complicated handling requirements. The AC-K produces amazing high speed racing also for those who are not professional windsurfers, but with a wish to dominate their home spot. The sail range offers a very compact outline, short boom and mast lengths, swift handling infused with low-end power and the stability of 3 cambers.

Point-7 AC-X 2011 : Race and Slalom no camber :

The AC-X, the all new testosterone pumped no-cam sail from Point-7. Tested and developed in the Canary Islands in all thinkable conditions, from the nuclear winds in Pozo to the choppy waters of Fuerteventura and back home at the development HQ in Tenerife. Final testing was carried out at Lake Garda in Italy to complete the bigger sizes and ensure overall performance in light winds.
Mast Choice Advise: The sails have been tested with C100+, C80+ and C60 in SDM, RDM and BICO masts.
Design objective: Why trouble having several different sail types like freeride, cam- no-cam freerace sails when the AC-X delivers so much more of everything. A unique sail range that fulfils any flat water need
Development: The new AC-X is taking its place in a very successful series of the Andrea Cucchi signature sails. Having taken the best from our past freeride and no-cam slalom sails the Square and AC-0, and genetically fused these 2 classic sails with all the knowhow and skill of the Point-7 development team. A new sail line has been spawned, delivering a shocking combination of low-end power, top speed, control and comfort all in one.
If earlier having had any doubt which sail model to choose, that question has now effectively been eliminated by having one sail line that does it all and deliverers everything.
Sized from 5.2 to 9.0; the smallest size and up to 6.5 is built on a 6 batten construction and 7 battens in the sizes upwards. Keeping in tone with latest Point-7 trend, the sail design is kept compact with short mast and boom lengths.

Point-7 Swell 2011 :

The Swell, pure wave has been tested and developed in the Canary Islands, in both on- and side-shore conditions. The islands offering an array of settings, which combined with heavy swells and wind generated waves, empower the sail to be suitable in whichever condition at whatever location you wish to enter.
Mast Choice Advise: The Swell has been tested with the C100+ srdm and bico, ,C80+ rdm and C60 rdm. The Swell does not rig on SDM masts.
Design objective: Plenty of drive for early planning, hard bottom turns and massive air-time, whilst staying neutral in down-the-line wave sailing. Graceful in the execution of radical manoeuvres and forgiving in its character
Development: The Swell has been cut with a tight leech to deliver a very soft feeling for effortless wave riding and transmit fast bursts of energy when needed to tackle hard bottom turns and radical manoeuvres.
Featuring a refined outline and leech twist along with a more profound batten rotation increases the stability and range of the sail especially in light wind conditions. The sail profile gives a slight forward pull for easy control out of the cutback, whilst remaining neutral in bottom turning. The Swell’s aimed pressure point delivers stability and neutral handling in all conditions. Though the new linear base cut the rider gets more freedom when going for cut backs or grapping under the boom.
A structured window section built using a slightly thicker clear material for optimal visibility whilst maintaining strength at its core. Surrounded by bullet proof X-ply reinforced materials in the rest of the sail body.

Point-7 and Challenger Sails: A new sail development initiative : http://www.point-7.com/?p=1353

High performance windsurfing equipment, capable of winning at the pinnacle level of the sport, can only be developed through a professional loft structure, working with a team of professional designers, skilled technicians and a highly qualified test team.

Andrea Cucchi (Point-7) and Claudio Badiali (Challenger sails) have both decided to unite their company’s strengths through a collaboration of the Point-7 test team and head of development together with the Challenger Loft Design Team

This cooperation is not a merger of the two brands but a strengthening of their individual company programs and products. This new relationship will produce faster and higher quality-orientated development paths for both brands, in their range of products.
