Mark the wind was very strong and it was too late to change the sail, but Estelle was going very fast even with 30 knots and 6.3, not bad I think

Estelle BARRE semble bien aimer mettre pas mal de tension sur ses RAM f13 et cela quelque soit les conditions... Emplacement des stickers MINI MAXI mal placés ?

Il faudrait lui demander! mais n'oublions pas qu'Estelle est un tout petit gabarit et de ce fait difficile de juger,à la voir progresser elle sait trés bien gérer sa voile pour ses besoins, tout ce que je peux vous dire c'est que ce jour-là j'étais en 5.3 de vague complètement surtoilée et pourtant j'ai l'habitude, elle m'a bleuffé si peu de temps après son accident!!

euh.....cette tension est carrément hors sujet,je pense...
ça ne donnera pas une voile plus facile a tenir dans le vent fort,contrairement a ce qu'on croit...
ça donnera juste une voile plate qui guidonne et qui fait du on/off si le vent est rafaleux..
on change de surface dans ce cas...
les north n'ont qu'un réglage d'amure.......basta..

bon,là,visiblement,elle avait pas le temps de changer,mais quand meme...

Thx for the info Annie. But in my experience trimming the Ram/Warp for different windstrenghts is via the outhaul, not the downhaul. Less outhaul is less wind, more outhaul in more wind. Downhaul I only to trim the board, less in choppy conditions, more in flat conditions.

well, could you please develop, mark ? i'd have rather said the opposite, with a tensed leech on flat water to have something more strait in the arms, and more downhaul for real water, so that the smoother feeling makes you can still handle a less strait sail ...
? well, looks like i still didn't get it all

A bit less downhaul gives more power/downforce to keep the nose of the board low in choppy conditions. But this is offtopic now and more about sail/board trim.

ok, so that's some kind of pascal toselli style, 'manage it well or break' (french expression, word to word : goes trough or breaks, i think i see what you mean
