MauiSails.com. First preview of new MauiSails SRS mast series.

The backbone to a high performance rig is the mast and we have made a great effort, working with our manufacturer to improve bend, consistency and durability. The new SRS Race 100K masts have a Kevlar outer layer in the lower section to protect against point loading and wear at the boom and cam areas.

C'est étonnant qu'ils n'aient pas repris la forme arrondie au niveau de la séparation monofilm / matériau tramé, comme sur la TR-X. Quoi qu'il en soit, avec ce matériau et comme pour d'autres marques, c'est plus compliqué de visualiser l'ouverture de chute en statique.

We have worked at further refining both the shaping and materials of our 7 batten, 2-3 cam Freerace sail line to give it an even greater dose of TR performance infusion. For 2014, we have added the same new, light weight metallic scrim that we use in the TR-X to the leech and upper sail body of the new TITAN-GS-X. This new material reduces weight and gives the leech “twist zone” of the sail a lighter and more responsive feel. A moderately wide, x-ply/Dacron composite mast sleeve provides a clean profile and cams off rigging. Lower profile shaping has been improved for added stability and power. Leech twist has been refined for better and more progressive release through the head. The combination of adjustments has led to increased wind range and an incredibly fast and efficient free race performer.

First TRX batch has landed, a few pics of the 6.3 and 7.0. Very quick sail today on the 7.0 (thought I picked the 7.7 so was well underpowered), very light and responsive, just needed more wind, more to come soon:
