Sonntag Fins : In the last 6 month we designed and tested a new asymmetrical speed fin, called GPS_X2W, together with Peter de Wit.

We are happy to announce that our latest symmetrical speed fin, named GPS_6, is ready for series production. This fin was developed together with Peter de Wit. Testing was mainly done by Peter d.W. and Twan Verseput. The aim of the GPS_6 was to create a true symmetrical speed fin for enthusiastic speed sailors adding some km/h extra-speed compared to what high end slalom fins can do.

We are proud to announce that our new slalom competition fin SL-pro is now released for series production.

The SL-pro is our latest competition slalom fin designed to win races. We tested and tuned the carbon layups over the last 12 month in our team with Ben van der Steen giving the key input for testing under slalom competition conditions. General fin performance and speed aspects were covered by Peter de Wit, Twan Verseput, Patrick van Hoof and Fabian Blanke.

Design & Technology
We developed new outlines allowing us to fine tune the fin’s characteristic for low drag and high efficiency. The carbon layups finally shown best performance have very low geometric twist and a medium stiff bending curve with a bit stiffer mid2tip stiffness. The profile is specifically designed for the SL-pro and offers low drag at small AoA by a thinner and sharp leading edge section still giving enough grip to accelerate seamless after the jibe from lower speeds.

Sailing Characteristic
The SL-pro induces stable vertical lift for sailing the board over the complete length in a high position “on” the water. Our test team calls this characteristic the “foiling” mode. Here the fin takes a significant portion of that load the board is normally carrying.

The SL-pro is available in length of 28-48cm and Tuttle and Deep-Tuttle bases.

Ca semble etre les mêmes tailles que tout ce qui se fait avec les ailerons dernière génération :

63cm de large 31/32/33 pour 5,6m/6,3m/7m
70cm de large 36/37/38 pour 7m/7,8m
85cm de large 44/45 pour 8,6

en comparant par rapport au SL-X,il faut tailler plus petit..-1 à -2...
le SL-Pro se rapproche plus des standards voire taille plus grand!
j’utilise un 47 sur ma 85 de large en 9.6...et aucun décrochage,appui de taré et donc gain réel en vitesse!
les 30 n en v-max sont easy en gros matos!

J'ai reçu un Sonntag SL-PRO 32,5 cm

Pour le SL-Pro, Sonntag a abandonné les paramètres compliqués de rigidité.
La souplesse standard est "medium" pour la tranche de 75 kgs jusqu à 100kgs
A partir de là, on peut avoir une version plus souple (conseillé sous 75kgs) ou plus rigide.

Excellent contact / délai parfaitement maîtrisé (1 mois dans mon cas)
Rien à dire , c'est très beau, finition clairement au-dessus de tous mes autres ailerons customs Zfin's et ALF....

Du neuf chez Sonntag avec la version 2 du SL-Pro.
J'en ai reçu deux : un 34 et 39. Finition toujours aussi parfaite.
Sur l'eau, plage d'utilisation plus large et plus d'appui.
2 rigidités : la medium pour tous les gabarits de 75 à 100 kgs
et une seconde plus souple destinée aux gabarits légers.
D'autres layup possible sur demande pour ceux qui recherchent quelque chose de très précis.
