mumble mumble...
Today I've sailed the RB 9,5 rigged on 520 with the 127 and z 48.
Wind was 11-14 kts.
I'm currently in the low 75 kg.
My buddies (same weight than me) were equipped with smaller sails (127/8,6) and one with 117w/8,7 chs.I was clearly better in every aspect (even if we are totally same level) and the only real competitor was the 117w/8,7.
I still don't know what's the new RB is all about but,to me,the new 9,2 has the same specs as my 9,5 but it requires the 490....
Pff course there will be much more and we have to see the sail rigged but I'm not sure the new 9,2 will be so far than my 9,5...
Totally bigger is the 9,6.It's a monster.Nobody is going to complaint about the lack of torque!
Ask why they're lenghtened the 8,6/7,8 boom that much.Is it a North inspiration??!!!
Being BVS one of the tester they should fit the IS fine but it sounds odd a 220cm boomed 7,8 charging the 107... ...as well as a 230cm boomed 8,6 in the same board!
Just for talking a bit,it could be they DON't want you need a bigger size (for given board) and the "right size" will deliver all you need for the board range. In other world,no more 8,6/107 but just 7,8/107 even in the light (for the board).
A longer boom 7,8 will fit better also the new 76-80 cm wide boards...
It's too early now and the shit above are ONLY SPECULATIONS at the moment,But will be funny to see how it's gonna be.
cheers
